The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen has announced that the government is to hold a sale of work to aid the country’s ailing finances.

The government is aiming to raise at least €1,000 at the event, due to be held at the Mansion House on March 9th at 2pm. People are being asked to donate non-perishable, preferably tinned foodstuffs, homemade cakes and any unwanted clothes. Volunteers for stalls are also being sought. Anybody willing to help should contact the Department of Finance (01 – 676 7571).

Lots of exciting activities are lined up, including a bouncy castle (weather permitting), face-painting and a bottle stall. A raffle will be held at 4pm, with a romantic weekend trip for two to Trabolgan as first prize.

A fun-filled day for kids and adults is guaranteed!
